Latin American journalists visit Shennong Herbal Garden

A delegation of Latin American journalists visited GPHL’s traditional Chinese medicine museum in the Shennong Herbal Garden on June 22nd. Qiu Jianhua, GPHL’s director of Cooperation Culture, and senior staff members met the delegation and presented on the TCM industry.

The delegation showed great interest in the Chinese herbs, asking about their names and curative effects. They also tried Wanglaoji herbal tea and visited the Wanglaoji museum.

The members of this delegation come from the mainstream media of 10 countries including Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil and Mexico. And their trip aims to introduce TCM culture and its latest developments to their native markets.  

The Shennong Herbal Garden is a national 4A tourist attraction and has been recognised as the National TCM Culture and Education Base and the National Science Education Base.

Since the garden opened to the public in 2006, it has received more than 1.5 million visitors from home and abroad and become a top tourist destination for locals and visitors alike.
