On July 31st, a Forum for the Social Value of State-owned Enterprises (2021) was held in Guangzhou. Approximately 300 representatives from authorities of the nine mainland cities in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA), GBA-based state-owned key enterprises, local state-owned enterprises (SOEs), and mainstream media attended the forum.

At the forum, the Research Report on Corporate Social Value of State Owned Enterprise in the Greater Bay Area 2021 (“Blue Book”) was published. The Blue Book included GPHL into the top 10 list of best practice cases for fighting against COVID-19.

As China’s first research report on studying the corporate social value of SOEs, the Blue Book plays a significant role in promoting SOE’s devotion to the country’s strategies and general conditions and giving back to the wider society. The top 10 list recognised GPHL’s commitment to assuming social responsibility and creating social value.

Putting into the practice of its commitment of “love for the world”, GPHL has made considerable efforts towards fighting against COVID-19, facilitating rural revitalization, safeguarding and ecological civilization. It has been recognised by the central, provincial, and local governments as well as all walks of life and awarded a variety of titles, such as National Outstanding Organization for Civilization, May 1st Labour Medal, National Model for Patriotism and Supporting the PLA, as well as Outstanding Organization in China's Poverty Alleviation.

The Forum was guided by the Science, Technology, Innovation and Social Responsibility Bureau under the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council and the Guangdong Provincial State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission.
