On February 25th, GPHL’s subsidiary Guangzhou Baiyunshan Guanghua Pharmaceutical Co. Ltd. (Guanghua) officially launched a nationwide campaign to donate medicines, such as Chloroquine Phosphate Tablets and Bupleurum Granules. Guanghua donated half a million Chloroquine Phosphate Tablets to coronavirus-hit areas in China.
On that day, the first batch of medicines, including 70,200 Chloroquine Phosphate Tablets, 70,000 packs of Bupleurum Granule, and 10,800 packs of peptide power, were delivered to the Zhong Nanshan Medical Foundation in Guangdong. With the help of this foundation, the medicines were supplied to affected patients in Guangdong and Jingzhou in Hubei.
Chloroquine Phosphate has been included into the sixth version of guidelines for fighting against COVID-19. So far Guanghua has produced nearly two million Chloroquine Phosphate Tablets meeting the demands of about 50,000 patients.
In addition to Guangdong and Jingzhou, Guanghua also donated these medicines to other areas, such as Guizhou, Shanxi, and Henan.

Guanghua’s chairman Huang Kunrong told the reporter that since production of this medicine had been discontinued for over two decades, the company sent 20 researchers and technicians to overcome all technical challenges, and resumed production in just 2 weeks. Meanwhile, nearly 60 production line workers and inspectors worked solidly for 4 days, and completed the production and testing of the first batch 3 days ahead of schedule.
