Malaysia’s trade promotion agency, MATRADE, Consulate General of Malaysia in Guangzhou, are organizing a Market Immersion to Guangzhou from 18th to 21st, with the aim to link Malaysian Mid-Tier Companies (MTCs) with potential business partners and buyers.

The meeting brings various Malaysian MTCs, including Erapoly Global Sdn Bhd, a manufacturer of UHT coconut milk and ingredients, and Zhulian Industries Sdn Bhd, a manufacturer and distributor of instant coffee beverages.

The participants also include those that have identified and seeking for potential opportunities in Guangzhou from the food & beverage sector, including Fusipim Sdn Bhd, a manufacturer of frozen seafood (surimi) and Maestro Swiss, a manufacturer of chocolate malt based drinks.

In addition, MATRADE and Guangdong General Chamber of Commerce (GGCC) will hold a one-to-one business matching session with their members on December 20th. The session will include more than 30 meetings as well as a trip to visit companies in Shenzhen.

The Market Immersion event is part of the Mid-Tier Companies Development Programme (MTCDP) of Malaysia dedicated to partner MTCs with global partners. It gains support from China Council for the Promotion International Trade Guangzhou & Guangdong and Guangzhou Aquatic Production Chamber of Commerce.

MTCs are companies with an annual revenue of between RM50 million and RM500 million in the manufacturing sector and between RM20 million and RM500 million in the services sector. They represent a key driving force behind the Malaysian economy.

Guangdong and Malaysia maintain close partnership in trade. From January to October 2019, Malaysia’s total trade with Guangdong reached USD27.97 billion. Malaysia’s exports to Guangdong were valued at USD19.08 billion while imports were recorded at USD8.88 billion in the same year.
