On April 23rd, 2019, a conference was held to highlight the contribution of ‘model workers’ and groups in Beijing ahead of the International Labor Day, which falls on May 1st. A total of 695 individuals and more than 800 groups were honored at the event.

Wang Dongming, vice chairman of the National People's Congress Standing Committee and chairman of the All-China Federation of Trade Unions, addressed the conference. Wang called on all Chinese workers to "be firm in following the Communist Party of China and work hard to realize the Chinese dream." He also asked them to practice core socialist values and to improve themselves.

GPHL was honored as the model group and is the only unit that has received this award in Guangzhou. GPHL’s chairman Li Chuyuan attended the conference to accept the award on behalf of the group.

GPHL has been carrying forward the spirit of hardworking all the time. Now it is the largest pharmaceutical enterprise and Chinese patent medicine production base in China. It is one of the 21 enterprises with annual sales revenue exceeding 100 billion yuan in Guangdong. It owns 12 China Time-honor Brands and 10 China Famous Brands.

In 2018, the group achieved a sales revenue of 116 billion yuan, with a year-on-year growth of 13.56%, and the total profit was 5 billion yuan, with a year-on-year growth of 50%. It has ranked first on the list of the China’s top 100 Pharmaceutical companies for seven consecutive years and ranks 165th on the list of China’s Top 500 Enterprises.
