Wanglaoji brings Chinese icon to the world through the Belt and Road Initiative

By the end of the 1800s, Wanglaoji had already begun to be exported in small quantities, making its first steps onto the world stage. According to the ‘Travel Notes of the New Continent’ written by Liang Qichao during his USA tour, Wanglaoji Herbal Tea worth two cash in Guangdong at that time, was being sold at a price of five to ten US dollars in USA, very much a luxury item at that time.

Now, in line with the Belt and Road Initiative, Wanglaoji has fully implemented its own internationalization strategy, appearing at the roadshow meetings in multiple cities including Beijing, Hong Kong, New York, Washington, Tokyo, Chicago, London and Munich. This has allowed Wanglaoji to re-introduce Chinese herbal tea culture and demonstrate the way in which it has developed over the past centuries.

Most notably, Wanglaoji also joined the Fortune Global Forum Roadshow in Chicago this June, where it held an event aiming to foster support in the US for Chinese Herbal Tea Culture and Wang Lao Ji Herbal Tea.

This December, Wanglaoji will appear at the 2017 Fortune Global Forum, placing this Chinese icon firmly in the spotlight. In the future, along with the further implementation of the Belt and Road Initiative and Guangzhou’s continued strategy of opening up, Wanglaoji will continue in its drive to internationalize an open and innovative brand that all Chinese people are proud of.
