Shanghai Pharmaceuticals’ chairman visits GPHL with delegation

Zhou Jun, Chairman of Shanghai Industrial Investment (Holdings) Co. , Ltd (SIIC) and Shanghai Pharmaceuticals Holding Co. Ltd. (SPH), led a delegation to visit GPHL on July 13th. Li Chuyuan, Chairman of GPHL, and the senior managers met and welcomed SPH’s delegation at the Shennong Building.
During a meeting between the two groups, Li Chuyuan spoke about GPHL’s development. He said that GPHL’s total sales revenue exceeded 100 billion yuan in 2017, and will that the group will further their efforts innovation.
“We are dedicated to four main businesses: pharmaceuticals, healthcare, marketing, and medical treatment, boosting three new business models, that is, e-commerce, capital finance and medical equipment,” said Li, “SPH is a leading pharmaceutical enterprise in China with remarkable R&D capabilities and outstanding sales volume. We are looking forward to more communication and cooperation between GPHL and SPH, especially as regards the reform of state-owned enterprises (SOE).”
Zhou Jun said that SIIC’s development has been focusing on environmental protection and healthcare industries in recent years. “We are both SOEs and have similar goals, so it will be great for GPHL and SPH to have more conversations and learn from each other.”
During the meeting, the two enterprises discussed how SOEs could reform their internal policies to encourage innovation.
Li Chuyuan had in fact already visited the SIIC and SPH, and met with Zhou Jun during his trip to Shanghai in June. SPH’s visit to GPHL has further enhanced mutual understanding between two leading pharmaceutical enterprises and paved the way for future cooperation.
