GPHL Chairman Li Chuyuan selected as one of 2018 top responsible employers

The 10th China Corporate Social Responsibility Forum with the theme of “responsibility and consensus building” was held in Beijing on July 27th, and attended by government officials and representatives from companies, NGOs and media.

To encourage social responsibility, the forum arranged a ceremony to present awards to enterprises, individuals and specific cases that made remarkable contribution to the society. Li Chuyuan, Chairman of GPHL, was awarded as one of the top responsible pioneer of the year.

The award’s jury said Li Chuyuan has been leading GPHL to promote the development of traditional Chinese medicine industry while dedicated to innovation and social responsibility.

Under Li’s leadership, GPHL established the first coalition to reclaim people’s expired medicine in China. The enterprise also set up a Wanglaoji branch in Sichuan’s Ya’an to help rebuild the city after the earthquake, an set construct the “Tibetan Health Castle” in Tibet’s Nyingchi to alleviate local poverty.  

Li Chuyuan said the award recognized the efforts paid by GPHL’s 50 thousand employees. “We have been always looking for what we can do to feed different demands of the society,” he said, “as a pharmaceutical enterprise, we consider our mission to improve people’s health conditions and lower the cost of medical treatment.”

The ranking is hosted by Southern Weekly and a third party institution, and has been organized among state-owned companies, listed companies and private companies in China for years. According to the organizer, they saw more than 1000 participants this year.
