According to the organizer, the yearly meeting aims to carry out the State Council’s policy of encouraging entrepreneurship in China.

The meeting awarded Li Chuyuan, GPHL’s President and Party Chief, as this year’s excellent entrepreneur because of his achievements managing the centuries-old pharmaceutical enterprise and boosting innovation.

Li Chuyuan has been in the biomedicine industry for more than 20 years, dedicated to the enterprise’s R&D ability and CSR. Since being appointed as GPHL’s party chief and chairman, Li has divided GPHL’s business into four areas including traditional Chinese medicine, healthcare, commerce and medical treatment, and fostered three major new business models: e-commerce, capital finance and medical equipment.

Li Chuyuan’s work is widely recognized and he has won a series of titles and awards including, the State Council Expert for Special Allowances, 2017 Top 10 Economic Personages of China and Top Ten Outstanding Youth of Guangzhou.

It is of note that GPHL achieved a sales revenue of RMB 100 billion in 2017 and has topped the list of China’s Top 100 Pharmaceutical Companies for several years in a row. Li said GPHL’s next goal is to become a Fortune Global 500 enterprise by 2020.
