This year’s conference brought together more than 110 bio-pharmaceutical enterprises from Beijing, the Yangtze River Delta Area and the Pearl River Delta. Founders and R&D directors from renowned enterprises, such as, WuXi AppTec, Johnson & Johnson and Merck, introduced their companies’ strategies and core technologies, and shared their ideas on Guangzhou’s bio-med industry business environment.

Wu Chenbing, founder of EpimAb Biotherapeutics, a bio-tech company based in Shanghai, said the quality of clinical trials is a decisive element in attaining drug production licensing, making it crucial for bio-pharmaceutical enterprises as well.

“Guangzhou has abundant medical resources and is home to a large number of experts including Zhong Nanshan and Wu Yilong. And we have the honor to have Wu Yilong as our science consultant, leading the company's first clinical trial on our bispecific antibody drugs," said Wu Chenbing.

Liu Dan, Vice President of CDH Investments, echoed that officials of Guangzhou government have in-depth perception of the development of the bio-med industry and offers enterprises convenient services.

Huangpu and the Guangzhou Development District have become the key area to develop the bio-med industry nationwide as a batch of world-class bio-med projects have settled here since 2017. For example, BeiGene’s bio-med project and GE’s bio-tech industrial park are under construction, followed by international projects as the Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory and the Thermo Fisher Precision Medicine Science Center.
