After last year’s Fortune Global Forum, another major international event, the 2018 Guangzhou Annual Investment Conference, starts today and will be held until March 28th at Baiyun International Convention Center with the theme of ‘Guangzhou, Your Best Choice’.

According to the Guangzhou Bureau of Commerce, this year’s conference has shown record-high appeal, with 2500 guests and 93 Global 500 enterprises (48 of which are domestic the remaining from overseas) confirming attendance.

Furthermore, representatives of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Bay Area and Guangzhou’s sister cities along the Belt & Road will also attend the conference.

To highlight Guangzhou’s business opportunities, senior government officers will give a comprehensive introduction to their latest plans and the city’s business environment while CEOs of leading enterprises will present their achievements and new projects in the city.

In addition, 23 sub-forums will be held by Guangzhou’s eleven districts, related departments and leading local enterprises. These forums will focus on four major themes, chiefly: economic restructuring, scientific innovation, reform and openness and better governance.

To push forward bilateral investment, this year’s conference will launch a new roadshow session to introduce the business environments in African and ASEAN countries. 15 countries including Ethiopia, Angola, Singapore and Malaysia, and their respective consulates in Guangzhou will attend and consult with potential partners.

An exhibition of technological innovation will also be held as usual to display cutting-edge products from local brands, such as, Wanglaoji’s TCM bar-code, JingChi’s autonomous vehicle and MiD-Technology’s glassless 3D display terminal.

A wide range of activities including partnership meetings and business tours will also be organized during the conference.
