Recently, the Chinese Medicine Culture Space was unveiled at the Winter Olympic Village for the 2022 Beijing Olympic Winter Games and 2022 Paralympic Winter Games in Beijing.

An exhibition is held in this area to showcase traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) culture and products, welcoming visitors, such as athletes, officials, and journalists, from all over the world to learn more about TCM culture. The exhibition was jointly built by the China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences (CACMS) along with GPHL and other enterprises.

Several video displays have been set up to introduce TCM to viewers, sharing information such as TCM's history, characteristics, and its popularity overseas, among other relevant information, according to Li Tiangang, director of the office leading the preparatory work for the TCM exhibition booth.

"We'd like to provide wisdom and tips of Traditional Chinese Medicine to international athletes, to help them maintain good performance both physically and mentally. For example, we have a lot of self-massage skills or food as medicine for international visitors and athletes", said Professor Wang Lepeng, Beijing University of Chinese Medicine.

In 1996, China introduced the concept of 'internationalizing TCM,' seeking to expand and maintain the sustainable development of traditional Chinese medicine abroad. Over the past decades, it has witnessed some growth overseas. The Beijing Winter Olympics are expected to serve as another platform for its promotion.
