Starting from October 23rd, all people, including customers, tourists and staff members entering any hotel in Guangzhou must wear masks during their entire visit.

Masks are not required when sleeping in the hotel room or eating in the dining hall, according to the latest notice on epidemic control released by the Guangzhou Municipal Commerce Bureau and the Guangzhou Municipal Culture, Radio, Television and Tourism Bureau.

Customers must report their health condition and the past 14 days travel history when checking in the hotel. Those who have been to medium-and-high risk areas over the last two weeks must report to the local authority immediately. In the meantime, visitors are required to register their personal information first and show their health codes in the front desk of the hotel.

In order to effectively cope with possible outbreaks in the coming autumn and winter, hotels should have enough epidemic prevention supplies in store, such as sterilizers, masks, non-contact thermometers and hand sanitizer, in line with their capacity and number of staff. Hotels are encouraged to also provide their customers with free hand sanitizer to maintain good daily hygiene.

Guangzhou has recently further strengthened its pandemic prevention and control measures in hotels, including checking body temperature, scanning health codes, restricting customer flow, disinfecting and ventilating the rooms, elevators and public areas and lobbies frequently.
