The Ceremony for Commending Guangdong Province's Role Models in the Fight Against the COVID-19 Pandemic was held at the Guangzhou Baiyun International Convention Center on October 21st. The ceremony recognised organizations and individuals in Guangdong province for their outstanding contributions to the provincial coronavirus response and excellent grassroots CPC organizations as well as CPC members in the province.

GPHL's subsidiary Guangzhou Pharmaceuticals Co., Ltd. was honoured with the title of ‘Outstanding Organization in Guangdong’s Fight Against COVID-19’. (There were only 30 winners in Guangzhou)

The CPC committee of Guangzhou Pharmaceuticals Co., Ltd. was honoured with the title of ‘Outstanding Grassroots CPC Organization in Guangdong Province’. (There were only 9 winners in Guangzhou)

As one of the major business division of GPHL, Guangzhou Pharmaceuticals is responsible for reserving supplies for Guangzhou and Guangdong’s efforts to prevent and control the virus. During the pandemic, under the leadership of GPHL, Guangzhou Pharmaceuticals quickly gained access to collect and reserve necessary supplies, and established medicine and equipment supply chains. It launched the mask reservation function on Suikang, a WeChat mini-program, for local residents in Guangzhou. It purchased Chloroquine Phosphate Tablets overseas and delivered the drugs to hospitals for clinical trials in a timely manner. Other drugs were also sent to hospitals in COVID-19-stricken areas. In addition, the company ran, and continues to run 24-hour pharmacies to meet consumers’ demand.
